Hello all! I've already finished my very first week at Prior Weston! How crazy! Charles, on Friday, said "one down, 10 to go! Enjoy them because they'll go fast!" This weekend I'm at Tom's in Northampton but next weekend we plan to go see all the big sights--so I'm super excited!
This week at school I mostly observed and learned their schedule and routine for the week. Each morning is the same, with math and literacy groups but each afternoon is different. Some days their doing ICT (Information and Communication Technology) in the afternoon, or Religious Education or rotating around the classrooms doing music, French or art. It's very interesting how they do it. It may take some getting used to but I think it'll be good!
While I'm here in London, my class is going to be penpals with another PFYer's class in Texas. So this week, my class started our letters to Chris' class in Texas. The kids had a great time writing about their lives in London; they worked very quietly and really impressed me with their writing. This coming Thursday, we'll make our final copies to send to Texas and patiently wait for return letters! :)
I'm teaching 2 math lessons this coming week. Charles said he would make the plan for the week and let me know what the content would be. I'm excited to do more teaching; observing gets to be a little boring--still worthwhile--but a little boring.
Today, in Northampton, we went and saw the shoe museum! Shoes from all eras, all shapes, colors...everything! It was so neat. They even had a spot to try on some random shoes! It was a neat museum to see and felt good to get out and see something!! We did a little shopping and now one of Tom's cousins is over so we're visiting with them. Tomorrow is back to London on the train and another week at school! :)
More soon!
