On Friday, Tom came down to London on the train. We went to the new Avatar movie in 3D! It was fun to see a movie in 3D...I hadn't done that before. And being that Tom is a Film and TV major, it was "research" for him to go. :) It ended up being a great movie and I, surprisingly, liked it!
On Saturday, we decided to get up about 9am and get to Leichester Square (pronounced Lester) where they have cheap theater tickets. It was raining a little but we stood in a few lines trying to get cheaper tickets to Lion King, Grease, Wicked, or Mama Mia. We ended up (after standing in a few lines) getting tickets to LION KING! It was an amazing show! Worth ever pound we paid for the tickets! :) Before the show, we went to Harrods which is a world famous department store in London.
We woke up this morning and got going again pretty early! We made our way to the Big Ben area again (wanted to see it in the daylight). We got a chance to see the changing of the horse guards. These are the guards that are on horses..obviously. Haha! After, we went to an English Pub for a late breakfast. We did some more walking and made our way to Buckingham Palace. It was a long day of walking and fighting crowds but it was a BEAUTIFUL day! The sun was shining and it was a little warmer than it has been lately. We grabbed a quick lunch and came back to my place before Tom left to go back home.
UFFDA! :) Now I'm updating the blog and getting ready for another week with my kids! Charles is planning to take me and the french teacher in our classroom to a few of his favorite sites sometime this week--that'll make an even busier week! But it'll be fun as well.
Hope you enjoy the update and the pictures!
GO VIKINGS!! I'm cheering them on all the way from London!
